So I did forget a wire. Ugh. I really wanted to test all the circuits before drywall went up, but the opportunity to do so got lost in a crush of scheduling.
Happily I overengineered the kitchenette wiring, putting the microwave on its own circuit because microwave+other high draw appliance can frequently trip breakers.
Instead of tearing up drywall, I just combined the microwave circuit with the rest of the kitchenette. Easy little fished cable run:

And the problem is sorted.
Until we want to make tea and popcorn at the same time, at least.

The kitchen nook will need a crossstitch on the wall. Upper left quadrant:Teapot. Lower right quadrant: Popcorn popping up. Round the whole. A red circle with diagonal bar.
