Got drywall up and even got a door hung before the in laws arrived. I’ve never put up a door before; I imagine doing non prehung would be much harder.
The door knob was missing when they arrived, but hey, we did pretty well.

In-laws are showing up tomorrow. A part of the room they are staying in has been repurposed as the stair landing for the reversed stairs.
As if a few days ago, we hasn’t done anything to fix the gaping hole between the room and the ex-room-but-now-stair-landing bit simply because there were higher priority things to tackle. But the arrival of the in laws is a bit of a deadline in this part, so this weekend we made some progress:

Tomorrows plan is to obtain some drywall, install it, then hang the door; that should get us to functional-but-ugly, which should be fine for now.
We have stairs that go the other way! (This is just the stringers with rough treads, finish work will be done quite a bit later)
